Godfred Sowah Khartey is a Chief Operating Officer at Global Afrisino Limited. He is responsible for project analysis and also contributes to project identification and development.
Godfred has also for the past seven years, engaged in policy and project analysis. He has done so for many private and quasi-government institutions. He was a Research Fellow at the Centre for Maritime Laws and Security Africa where he focused his research on maritime security, climate change mitigation, marine renewable energy, and fisheries development in West Africa. He was prior to all of these, a Teaching Assistant at the School of International Relations, Xiamen University and an Administrative and Research Assistant at the Ghana Embassy in Beijing, China. He’s been a Guest Lecturer of State Formation in Africa, Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Universitas Gadjah Madah (UGM), Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
He is currently a Research Fellow at the Belt and Road Institute, Xiamen University and a member of the Gulf of Guinea Maritime Institute- International Maritime Stakeholders Working Group.
Godfred Sowah Khartey holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with Chinese, a Master of Law Degree in International Relations and is currently a PhD Candidate of Law of the Sea at the South China Sea Institute, Xiamen University, China where he is focusing on climate change mitigation in the Gulf of Guinea.
